This two-semester high school speech class is designed to equip students with essential public speaking and communication skills that will serve them throughout their lives. In the first semester, students will learn the fundamentals of effective speech delivery, covering various speech types, such as informative, persuasive, and goal-setting speeches, while also engaging in a panel discussion to build teamwork and collaboration. The course will emphasize practical speaking skills useful in both personal and professional settings. In the second semester, students will deepen their abilities in speech delivery and audience engagement, exploring creative formats like historical speech recitations, poetry and prose interpretation, devotional presentations, and more. The class will also focus on speech analysis, evaluation, and impromptu speaking. Ultimately, students will gain confidence in public speaking and use their skills for the glory of God. Students who wish to continue for a second year will have the opportunity to refine their skills with more advanced assignments tailored to their growth.Â
