Joshua Ysasi
Mentorship Chair
Joshua Ysasi obtained a B.A in History from Midwestern State University in 2016. A year later he began working at Midwestern State University as a Financial Aid Counselor where he found that helping First-Generation students and their families navigate the financial aid process was the most rewarding part of that role. Ysasi then sought opportunities to aid and advocate for students on campus and became the staff advisor for the Organization of Hispanic Students (OHS) and later the Coordinator for the Priddy Foundation Scholarship, a full scholarship and program for selected First-Generation students, which is his current role.
He completed his M.A. in History in 2021, writing about the Dispossesion of Tejano Lands in West Texas. Ysasi is currently looking into continuing his education and is researching doctoral programs in Higher Education, and has an interest in DEI.
Our program caters to non-traditional mentorship pairings. Our cohort has a couple of different programs which are Professional Mentorship Pairing (Professional to Professional), Traditional Mentorship Pairing (Student to Professional).
