Provisional Ballots
If you are turned away at your voting place for any reason, ask for a “provisional ballot.” Those ballots are reviewed after polls close, when questions can be answered, and paperwork can be closely examined. The provisional ballot option is a safety net to guard against errors that would wrongly restrict a person from voting.
