Covering an area of 2,000 km², the Changbai Mountains National Reserve is a large natural zoo and botanical garden, part of the UNESCO's Man and Biosphere Program. The Tianchi Lake (Heaven Lake), vertical scenery, aerial park, hot springs, and waterfalls are among the six local natural wonders.
The Three Gorges are three adjacent gorges along the middle reaches of the Yangtse River, in the hinterland of China. With a subtropical monsoon climate, they are known for their scenery. The "Three Gorges Scenic Area" is classified as a AAAAA scenic area (the highest level) by the China National Tourism Administration.
Chaka Salt Lake is in the western part of the Chaka Basin. This natural crystallized saline lake is regarded as the eastern gateway to Qaidam Basin, which reserves the largest salt mine in the world.
Huangshan (literal meaning: Yellow Mountain) is a mountain range in southern Anhui province. Vegetation on the range is thickest below 1,100 meters, with trees growing up to the treeline at 1,800 meters. The area is well known for its sunsets, peculiarly-shaped granite peaks, hot springs, winter snow, etc. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of China's major tourist destinations.
