Once school starts we will practice after school from 3 pm to approximately 4pm at Timberstone Junior High.

What will I need to be successful?

  • A positive attitude

  • A desire to want to improve

  • A good pair of running shoes

  • Water!

  • A desire to be part of a team

How long is the season?

Cross country typically starts the first week of August with practice sessions and we finish up our last leauge meet the first week of October.

Why Run Cross Country?

Speed. Endurance. Confidence!

1.) Cross country is great for those looking to challenge themselves in competitive races.

2.) Cross country is great for those that have never played a sport before and are looking to be part of a team and get in shape.

3.) Cross country is great for multi-sport athletes looking to improve their speed and endurace.

So is it like track?

Kind of, but instead of running around in circles, Cross Country races are held on marked trails through fields and wooded areas. The races are two miles (yes, you can do this!)

When are tryouts?

In Cross Country there are no tryouts and no cuts. Anyone can join and everyone gets to race. Whether you are in first place, or in last, every runner is supported by the crowd and their teammates. The goal of every runner is to do their best and improve their times throughout the season.
