Art Lesson for May 4 - May 8

FLOWER PRINTMAKING - May Flowers or Mother's Day Flowers K-5

Supplies:

  1. empty cardboard tubes (I used toilet paper tubes and paper towel tubes)

  2. scissors

  3. paper to print on

  4. paint

  5. pallet (I used disposable paper plates)

Directions:

  1. Prepare paint pallet(s) by adding a little bit of at least two colors. ***Remember to mix colors that won't make yucky brown. You are safe to use any two primary colors together or colors that are next to each other on the color wheel.***

  2. Begin cutting slits into your cardboard tubes to construct your flower stamps. Make as many designs as you wish - square, rounded, pointy petals!

  3. Get your printing paper ready and start stamping!

  4. Don't forget to clean-up when you are done and if you want to turn it into a Mother's Day gift, write your Mom a special message once the flowers have completely dried. You could even adapt this to make a card for Mom! I hope you have tons of fun and share your results!
