Our school uniform is an expression of our school’s identity and it is worn with pride. Wearing the uniform well contributes to positive self-image and a sense of belonging to the community.
Parents and carers have clearly expressed that the uniform matters, and that wearing the uniform as described in this handbook should be expected and enforced.
In general, summer uniform is worn in Terms 1 and 4, and winter uniform is worn in Terms 2 and 3. In the first two weeks of Term 2 and the last two weeks of Term 3, students may choose either summer uniform or winter uniform.
Bags
The school backpack, library bag and excursion bag are part of the school uniform.
They are available to purchase from the school office.
Hair guidelines
Neat and tidy
Longer hair (shoulder length +) is tied back
White, black or maroon accessories (ribbons, clips etc.)
Natural colour
Extreme hair styles, though fashionable, are not suitable for school and should be reserved for school holiday periods with adequate ‘grow out’ time. These include, but are not limited to coloured hair, mohawks, mullets and shaved pattern cuts.
The final decision on appropriateness will be made by the Principal.
Hats
The school hat is part of the school uniform. Children who do not have their hat with them must play in the shade on the deck.
Jewellery
Jewellery should be kept to a minimum. Watches may be worn. Simple earrings for pierced ears are permitted - plain studs and sleepers are recommended. Nail polish and make-up are not suitable for school; students will be directed to remove.
