Label uniform items, lunch boxes, hats, shoes and socks.
Label your child’s school bag and all items inside.
Encourage your child to look after their own belongings and find their missing things!
All books and pencils are provided by the school. In the first few weeks we will send home the books to be contact covered.
On the first day students need to bring school bag, lunch, crunch and sip in separate container, drink bottle and hat etc.
Crunch and Sip is a short fruit and vegetable break that we have during our morning learning session. Talk to your child about what types of fruit and vegetables they would like to eat for Crunch and Sip. Your child might even want to help you prepare it.
Please provide a small serving of fruit or vegetables in a separate container to your child's recess/lunch. Crunch and Sip containers are stored in tubs in Kindergarten classrooms, so it is important that containers are very clearly labelled and can be opened independently by your child.
It's best to pack recess and lunch in one lunchbox so nothing gets lost!
Please explain to your child what their recess and lunch is and what you expect them to eat first.
Your child might even like to pick out a lunchbox or container that they like and can easily open and close!
We are a nude food school. This means we are trying to reduce our waste by not bringing single-use plastic to school. Healthy, fresh foods are encouraged and reusable containers and bottles are preferred.
Make a small cut in packaged foods. This will help your child to open packets independently.
Pack an ice brick in your child's lunch box to keep food cool. Lunch boxes are stored in a covered tub, but an ice brick will help keep food yummy and fresh.
Remember to pack a spoon or fork if required. The canteen and office cannot provide this. Reusable cutlery is best.
Please write on a brown paper bag with the child's name, class and food required with the cash inside. Lunch orders are to be placed in the classroom tubs at the start of the school day.
Canteen menu can be found on the Schoolzine app.
Water Bottle: Please provide a reusable bottle that can be refilled during the day.
Hat: Students are expected to wear the school hat at all times when outside. If students forget their hat they will need to sit in shaded areas at recess and lunch.
Raincoat: Please keep a raincoat in the bottom of your child's school bag in case of unexpected rain. Please do not send your child to school with an umbrella as this can be hazardous!
Jumper / Jacket: Help your child to practise dressing themselves in their full uniform before big school starts. This will help them to become more independent and will make for a more stress-free morning!
Spare Underpants and Socks: Sometimes children have accidents at school. We encourage you to always keep a spare pair of undies and socks in your child's bag, in a little sealable plastic bag.
All uniform items can be purchased from the Uniform Shop.
If your child has a medical condition please update and notify the office to ensure necessary adjustments can be made.
If your child needs to take medication at school, please give it to the front office. Medication is not to be put into your child’s bag. All medication must remain at the front office.
If your child has a medical action plan you must give it to the school office. This includes anaphylactic, asthma and allergy plans. They must also have your child's medication that is up to date and clearly labelled. We suggest putting a reminder on your phone for the date the medication or action plan needs to be replaced.
St Mark's is a “nut-awareness” school where peanut butter, Nutella and all other nut products are not allowed to safe guard the students who are anaphylactic.
