Staff Participants

In 2015 a small group of young teachers attended the ACYF in Adelaide as participants supported by a member of the SCS RE&E team. The feedback from these young teachers was extremely positive in terms of the impact of their own faith and on their teaching.

No better place to be than to be at ACYF!

In 2017, SCS are offering extensive opportunities for young teachers to be involved in the ACYF. The Second Year Beginning Teachers Retreat program will not be run in 2017, with these teachers instead invited to participate in the Youth Festival. The normal Beginning Teachers Retreat arrangements for time release funding support will apply for their schools.

This group of staff participants have been invited to formation gatherings during the year, in order to help prepare them to get the most out of the experience. They have been organised into small groups, supported by nominated small group leaders. Their experience of the ACYF will be tailored to their status as young adults. They will not be required to supervise students in any way. It is expected that these teachers attend for the full three days of the festival. They will also be highly encouraged to bring their experiences back into their school communities for the Year of Youth 2018.

Robert Haddad, Head of Evangelisation for SCS, will be coordinating the involvement of all young teachers, including the Second Year Beginning Teachers Retreat participants.
