Cross country is both a team and an individual sport. Competing runners race on open-air natural terrain, such as dirt or grass. Each course might look a little different, but in middle school, all of these races will be 2 miles. At the end of the race, teams are scored by adding the placements of their top 5 runners - hence, the lowest score wins! Runners will learn to pace themselves and improve throughout the season.
On our team, we have 3 rules. First, stay positive. Second, work hard. And third, encourage others. We believe these rules are fundamental in being able to improve as a runner and person. Aside from that, we want our runners to build a mental and physical appreciation for the sport of running!
