Meet your ELA Teacher

Welcome to our Fifth Grade classroom! I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! ! A little bit about me, my name is Tyla Cielinski and I'm very happy to be back at Harker this year.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Reading/ESOL. I love to teach and learn new things with my students throughout the school year. I have taught kindergarten, 1st grade, 4th grade (Math/Science) & 5th grade (ELA/Social Studies).

I grew up in Connecticut before becoming a "Jersey" girl. I have four daughters (you'll hear all about them) and am a Woolwich resident so you'll see me around town! You'll most likely find me at one of our local Dunkin' stores or at Acme grabbing a Starbucks. My daughters and I also love to visit the beach, our favorite shore spot is Wildwood Crest. We spend many days enjoying the sun and sand in the summer. Last year I became a Gigi and am so in love with my grandson. This summer I was able to watch him and had so much fun doing baby things again!!

SOME OF MY FAVORITE THINGS:

Food: Tacos (who doesn't love Taco Tuesday)

Travel: Wildwood Crest & Family Visits to Connecticut & California (it's where my dad lives)

Color: Pink (If it comes in pink I will buy it!)

Drink: Coffee, Water and Diet Coke sometimes I have all three going at the same time :)

Season: Summer, but Fall is a close second because I love back to school season

Fast Food: Chick-Fil-A (I just wish there was one closer) & McDonald's fries

Animal: Dog (I have two Charlie and Frank, you will be hearing a lot about them) but Octopus is my favorite sea animal
