Welcome to Fifth Grade ! My name is Silvia Cancila and I will be your child’s Math and Science teacher this year alongside Tara Roberto  who will be teaching Reading, Writing, and Social Studies. I consider it an honor to fulfill this role and look forward to working together with you as partners in your child’s education. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you as the school year gets underway.

I am  a resident of the Community and a parent to former Swedesboro Woolwich students.  My husband, Greg,  and I have two daughters, Alexis, a Special Education teacher in Woodstown  and Sarah, graduate of Saint Joseph's University and planning on going to graduate school for occupational therapy.

I grew up in Germany and Central Jersey.   I hold a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Widener University and a Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Science from the University of Dayton. This school year will begin my 19th  year teaching in Swedesboro and 28th year teaching.  I plan to create a classroom that helps your child to learn, to grow, and to feel part of a school community. I look forward to getting to know you over the course of the year as we work together to ensure a successful partnership in your child’s education.  Please do not hesitate to contact me regarding any questions or concerns you may have at scancila@swsdk6.com
