What is PBSIS?

PBSIS is Positive Behavior Supports in Schools.  We use positive reinforcement strategies to help highlighting students who show positive actions and display COmet Pride!  

How do we use this in the classroom and throughout the school day? 

Comet Cash - As students show Comet Pride or positive actions, we hand out Comet Cash that gives them a chance to win a prize at the end of each week! 

Punch Cards - The class takes punch cards to specials and lunch and are rewarded with a punch if they behave as a class!  If we return a certain amount of the cards quickly enough, we earn a movie!  Some days, if they are really exemplary, they earn more than one punch! 

Extra Recess - When students earn compliments from other teachers, they are rewarded with extra recess time.  This could be in the hall, at recess/lunch, or anywhere! 

Stellar Comet - At the end of each month, we pick 2 students to be nominated as Stellar Comets.  2 per grade level get picked and are honored at the Board of Education Meeting!
