Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s):

As a result of New York State UPK grant funding, the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District will be able to provide tuition free access to a 5-hour Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program for the 2022-2023 school year. Based on our grant allocation, we are able to provide this opportunity to 75 eligible students. To be eligible for this program, a student must be a district resident who will turn four years of age on or before December 1, 2022. Any student turning 5 on or before December 1, 2022 is not eligible for this program. St. Anselm's Academy of Shoreham and SCOPE Education Services have been awarded to serve as our UPK providers.

The Board of Education is excited to offer this program to families. This partnership will provide children with rich and varied early learning experiences that foster kindergarten readiness through the development of language and literacy skills, social and emotional growth, and gross and fine motor skill development. This program will run for the entire 22-23 school year, following the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District academic calendar. Transportation is not provided to either UPK location. If your child was not selected as one of the 75, they will be placed on an ordered waiting list and parents will be notified if openings become available.
