Regular Elementary Group to Secondary Special Education Group (CASP, CHALLENGES, DP)

Students registered in a specialized setting at the elementary level have priority placement in the secondary special education groups.

The Principal of the home school refers the student to the PSD Special Education Consultants holding the Transition dossier.

The decision is taken by a multidisciplinary team that includes consultants, in-school professionals, and administrators, with important recommendations from teachers and school staff.

• Admission to a specialized setting is based on:

  • Student's diagnosed learning disability

  • Student's MEES Difficulty Code

  • Group dynamics
