When a staff member becomes concerned that a student is displaying a significant and concerning change in behaviour and/or demeanour, the teacher or staff member should accompany the student in a referral to the In-School Professional (Guidance or Psychologist) or Special Education Technician.
The In-School Professional or Special Education Technician will meet with the student and, when necessary, refer the student to the appropriate resources. In each region, SWLSB support staff cooperate with the CISSS to ensure that students have access to health and social services.
