Mā konei koutou e kite ai i ā mātou mahi, ā mātou whakaharatau, ā mātou whakaaturanga hoki. Ko te whāinga nui kia tūhono, kia whakakaha, kia whakanui i te wairua Māori, kia rangona ai te reo me ngā tikanga i ngā wā katoa.
He mihi aroha tēnei ki a koutou katoa i tae mai ki te tautoko, ki te mātakitaki, ki te ako tahi me mātou. Nā koutou mātou i whakahihiko, kia ū, kia mau, kia ita ki te kaupapa nei.
Nō reira, nau mai, haere mai – whakatau mai rā!
Ngā manaakitanga,
Ngā kaiako me ngā ākonga o te SWIS Kapa Haka Rōpū (Kapa Kākāriki)
Who are we?
The South Wellington Intermediate School (SWIS) Kapa Haka Rōpū is a group of dedicated ākonga who come together to celebrate and uphold the traditions of Māori performing arts. Through waiata, haka, and pūrākau, our students deepen their understanding of te ao Māori while developing performance skills, cultural knowledge, and leadership. The rōpū represents the school at pōwhiri, cultural events, and community gatherings, strengthening connections between our kura, whānau, and the wider community. In doing so, our students embody the values of kotahitanga (unity), manaakitanga (care for others), and whanaungatanga (relationships), building pride in their identity and confidence as performers.
