Library Mission and Goals

The Southwest High School library is committed to empowering all students and staff to become thoughtful, informed, and responsible users of ideas and information. Our library fosters a welcoming, student-centered space that promotes curiosity, collaboration, and a love of reading. We strive to equip students with the skills to access, evaluate, and use information effectively across all areas of learning. By embracing intellectual freedom, inclusivity, and respect for every individual, we aim to support both academic and personal growth. Our goal is to serve as a model program that inspires lifelong learning and community engagement as set forth in the Model School Library Standards for California Public Schools.
