On October 15-19, students watched a series of short videos that covered topics like: Online Privacy, Online Literacy, Anti-Bullying, and Digital Leadership. Everyday during morning announcements students would watch a video for a different topic; at the end of the week students in their Social Science class took a (5-10 minute) Digital Citizenship Survey with 10 questions based on the topics covered. Answer sheets were scanned and Data was collected. (See Results Below)
Out of the 1,135 Student assessed, 74.2% have a Thorough Understanding and Ability to Apply.
Students had greater difficulty answering question #6, #10, #4, and #5. There could have been some confusion on the assessment, as it did not specify that students could choose more than one answer. The survey will need to be revisited to make changes to its structure in order to avoid confusion.
This was the first year we conducted a Digital Citizenship Survey at SYH, the survey was delivered ONLY in English, a second version will be created to assess ELs and SPED populations.
