Services for LGBTQ+ youth under the age of 21 and caregivers of LGBTQ+ youth:
Virtual services: Occur every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 4PM and 6PM regularly. If you are a new youth interested please check in with us at oursafeplace@csbcs.org and we can coordinate a ZOOM meeting to go over our ZOOM community guidelines and give access to the ZOOM codes. Some fun things we do include: game night, homework help, youth chat on different topics, and general group check ins
On site services: Our drop in center is located at 746 Ada St. Chula Vista, CA 91911 across the Palomar Trolley station and open daily from 12PM to 8PM. We are allowing youth to access the drop in center at this time while following public health guidelines for the safety of our staff and youth. Youth will need to have a face mask when entering space (our staff can provide a face mask if needed) and must get a temperature reading prior to entering. We are allowing youth up to 2 hours in the space and no more than 6 persons in the space at a time.
Caregiver support: We want to continue supporting our caregivers in the community and are offering caregiver support every Tuesday through Friday at 6PM.
One on one: We understand some youth may need individualized support. Our OSP staff can schedule one on one meetings via ZOOM or phone call to support youth in different areas if necessary.
Community trainings: Lastly, our staff can support in hosting LGBTQ+ trainings for community partners and folks needing additional assistance in their role in providing affirming support for LGBTQ+ youth.
If you are interested in any of the above services, please email us at oursafeplace@csbcs.org and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
