Now that master schedule balancing is complete, all schedule changes moving forward will follow the formal Schedule Change Petition Process. This process is intended to support students in unique or exceptional circumstances and ensure changes are made with input from all key stakeholders.
Staff Responsibilities
Teachers and staff may be contacted by students requesting a schedule change. These requests must follow the process below.
Schedule Change Petition Process
For a schedule change request to be considered, all three of the following forms must be submitted:
Student Schedule Change Petition – bit.ly/bvhstudentclasses
Parent Schedule Change Petition – bit.ly/bvhparentclass
Teacher Schedule Change Petition – bit.ly/bvhteacherclass
Teacher input is required. Teachers should briefly speak with the student and/or parent prior to submitting the teacher form.
Completion of all three forms is required for the petition to be reviewed.
Submitting a petition does not guarantee approval. Students must remain in their current classes and continue participating fully until officially notified of a schedule change.
Important Notes
Schedule changes are considered only in specific cases and must be aligned with course availability, graduation requirements, and programmatic needs.
