Students learned about subzero science at our June Ideas Lab! Liquid Nitrogen was used to demonstrate what happens to the physical properties of a balloon, rubber band, and a flower when submerged in liquid nitrogen. The Ideas Lab ended with various flavors of ice cream being made with the Liquid Nitrogen. It was a great Summer Ideas Lab in the park!
This May SCESWE had the opportunity to sponsor and attend the 2024 TEDxSavannah. This annual event was hosted at the Fine Arts Auditorium on Georgia Southern University’s Armstrong Campus. This gathering brought together a diverse array of speakers whose talks left a lasting impression.
Our quarterly SWE Meeting took place at Java Burrito in Downtown Savannah. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend. At this meeting we kicked off the start of our SWE Lean in Circle, which was moderator by Yvette Upton! The purpose of Lean in Circles is to create a safe environment for women to share peer to peer mentorship. The first Lean in Circle meeting focused on getting to know our peers better. The focus of the next Lean in Circle meeting will be about “How to get the recognition you deserve in the workplace”. The date and time for this meeting will be announced in our July Newsletter and on social media. To sign up to join our circle visit: Savannah SWE Circle - A Lean In Circle.
