We had an entertaining afternoon exploring downtown Savannah, learning the history of the Hostess City, and meeting new friends during the recent SWE Scavenger Hunt social event. The team hiked to a dozen Savannah landmarks like Leopold's Ice Cream, St. John the Baptist Cathedral, Chippewa Square (a filming location for the movie, Forrest Gump), and Colonial Park Cemetery. We may have taken a quick ice cream break between clues! Leave it to a group of engineers to solve a puzzle - our team was number 1 on the Urban Adventure Quest Savannah leaderboard with the most points and fastest completion time in the past 30 days! Keep your eyes peeled for news on the next SWE social event in the Spring, hope to see you there!

Zoe, SWENext Influencer and FIRST Robotics leader, and Charlee, a member of the 2025 STEM Next Flight Crew youth ambassador program, join us live from the WE25 Diverse Podcast Studio in New Orleans to share their experiences as young STEM leaders.
In conversation with Larry Guthrie, director of content strategy at SWE, they reflect on how Invent It. Build It. sparked powerful connections, what leadership looks like as a precollege student, and how they navigate bias, responsibility, and pressure as “the first” in their communities.
Hear their experiences starting STEM clubs and expanding access in rural areas, plus why a strong community is critical to shaping a more inclusive future in engineering.
