It is a yearlong responsibility of mine to keep parents informed and has tremendous potential to make a positive difference in the school experience for you and your student. Email, newsletters, phone calls, class blogs, and handwritten notes are all effective ways to communicate with you. However, it is important to consider the purpose of the communication when choosing a method because some have a better success rate of reaching a large group while others provide privacy. Providing families with expectations, recommendations for students to be successful, and other important information at the beginning of the school year will help set the tone for our class along with informing families how I plan to communicate with you in the future and ask for their input about their preferences.
