About Mrs. Rutan

I would like to introduce myself as your 7th grade Language Arts teacher this year !  This is my 32nd year of teaching and I have been in SWCS each of those years after graduating from Westland High School and Ohio University.  I have a master's degree in curriculum from Ashland University and a master's degree in administration from the University of Dayton.  I have been here at JMS since its opening in 2001. I was fortunate enough to teach both of my children in 7th grade as well!  My son Daniel is a 2017 graduate of Grove City High School and completed his bachelor's and master's degrees at  Oakland University in Rochester Hills, MI. While there he both played and coached baseball.  He is starting his third year as the assistant baseball coach at Dakota State University. My daughter Kayla graduated from GC in 2021 and Otterbein University this May. She is majored in criminology and psychology and will start graduate school at the University of Cincinnati this August.   My spare time is spent with family, friends, and of course my Yorkie!  I am also a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and reside here in Grove City.
