The Swan Valley Middle School Wrestling program introduces student athletes to the fundamentals of wrestling while emphasizing skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. This level serves as an important bridge between youth wrestling and the high school program, helping athletes build confidence and a strong foundation for future competition.
Middle school wrestling focuses on learning proper technique, developing strength and conditioning, and understanding the rules of the sport. Coaches work to create a positive and supportive environment where athletes can grow at their own pace while being challenged to improve.
The program is open to eligible middle school students within the Swan Valley district. No prior wrestling experience is required, and new athletes are welcome.
Practices are held during the middle school season and focus on skill development, conditioning, and match preparation. Athletes will participate in scheduled meets and tournaments appropriate for their age and experience level. Practice schedules and competition details are shared through the program’s communication channels.
Middle school wrestlers are expected to demonstrate effort, respect, and accountability. Athletes should arrive on time, be prepared to learn, and support their teammates. Academic responsibility and positive behavior are important parts of participation.
Updates regarding schedules, practices, and events are shared through official team communication channels. Families are encouraged to stay connected and reach out with any questions.
Family involvement is encouraged. Opportunities to support the program include volunteering at events, assisting with concessions, and helping create a positive team environment.
