Life in a rural school

By Maddie, Sixth Grade

Our school has been up and running since 1893. It has a reputation of being the most quiet, and rural school. It has survived forest fires, storms, and more. Swan River was the fourth school established in Flathead County. We had five classrooms for eight grades, but after some expansion, Swan River School now has nine classrooms for nine grades.

According to Mr. Gaiser, who is not only a teacher here, but was a former student said, “With a smaller school there are many more advantages because you know if a kid is struggling or is doing well in his or her work.”
