This year for optional summer reading, Swampscott Middle School is continuing to highlight diverse authors and experiences through book choices. At Swampscott Middle School, we want to embrace and celebrate differences, promote inclusivity, and empower our students to be a positive force in our world.

Each book below is hyperlinked to the publisher’s website, which provides a summary of the text. Most books can be found within the public library’s NOBLE network, which can be accessed at noblenet.org. Additionally, many books are available in free audio formats and ebooks via the public library using the Libbyapp. (Books may also be purchased from Amazon or other book retailers. It is not required that families purchase books.) Instructions for how to use the Libby app can be found HERE.
