LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD

WHAT IS THE LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD?

Students volunteer for the board to make the SMS Library/Media Center a fun, interesting place to go. All improvement ideas are discussed. Members plan fun events and raise money for the library.

Some ideas the board is planning: read to the preschool, bake sale to raise funds for the library, holiday party and book swap, and support for the upcoming Scholastic Book Fair.

Past events included Halloween scary story and art contest, bake sale, pajama day, the Library Olympics, and Read Across America.

Join the Google Classroom to get updates about the board's events and meetings. Get the code from Mrs. Moltz in the library.

Whenever you hear a meeting announced over the intercom, just show up! We always welcome new members.

WHEN IS THE NEXT MEETING?

Hello, to all you current and some past members of the Library Advisory Board. First of all, I'd like to thank you for all you did to support the library and make it a fun place to visit. We had a great time running events like the Halloween contest and party, talent show, library olympics, and the creativity fair. We raised money for the library so we could buy more books. We read to the preschool classes on Read Across America day. While I'll be retiring at the end of the semester, a new librarian will be coming to SMS. She has expressed interest in keeping the Library Advisory Board. Please give her your support to keep the board going!

I hope you are all healthy and safe at home. I've missed seeing you! It's been an honor to work with you, meet with you, talk with you. Thank you very much for giving me the world's best job!
