Pathway Overview 

Advanced Manufacturing pathway is a series of  courses that focus on engineering, technology, manufacturing, and design. These courses introduce students to several tools, materials, and processes used in fields such as engineering, manufacturing, and industrial design. Students apply the design process to a variety of projects that expose them to power tools, material fabrication, 3D design, and project management. This program further allows for career readiness with practical training and internship opportunities. 

Pathway Requirements

Courses:

3 Technical Courses:

• Advanced Manufacturing & Design 1 

• Advanced Manufacturing & Design 2

• Advanced Manufacturing & Design 3

2 Advanced Courses (Eligible for College Credit)

• Any AP course at SHS - Link to our Program of Studies

AND/OR

• College courses at North Shore Community College 

  • NSCC - Early College courses being offered this Spring 2023

  • NSCC Composition 101 course being offered at SHS in Fall

  • NSCC Any dual enrollment course of your choice, talk to Mr. Natoli - Search NSCC courses here. Suggested courses that align with the program include:

    • Intro to Manufacturing

    • Pre-Calc MAT151

    • Intro to Engineering

Internship/Capstone Project

• Upon completion of the three technical courses students within the Innovation Pathways program will be enrolled in a 100 hour internship with a local manufacturing company on the North Shore.

OR

• Year long design project solving a community or school based problem. 

What do I do if I'm interested?

1. Complete the student interest form

2. Reach out to your school counselor to set up meeting with Brennan Natoli 

3. Enroll in Advanced Manufacturing & Design 1 (2 &3)
