TODDLER - Chinese Language
Written by Bi Qin Laoshi
This term, our Toddler class explored the theme of “Nature and Colours” through fun and engaging activities. The children learnt basic vocabulary such as “flower”, “tree”, “water”, “wind”, “rain”, and “red”. We took them to the garden to search for colourful flowers, collected leaves to create a “big tree” craft, and enjoyed water play to experience the flow and fun of water. In a joyful environment, the children not only improved their understanding and use of Chinese vocabulary but also developed their observation skills, hands-on abilities, and curiosity about nature. Every interaction and exploration became a step forward in their language development. We are delighted to see these little ones starting to describe their world using simple Chinese words!

Little Shoppers on a Big Adventure!
On 30 April 2025, our nursery students enjoyed an exciting field trip to Ranch Market BSD, a day full of fun, learning, and new experiences!
The adventure began with a cheerful bus ride. The children sang songs and chatted excitedly with their friends as they looked forward to exploring the market. At Ranch Market, the children were guided through the aisles, learning about different items sold, from fresh fruits and vegetables to healthy snacks. They were introduced to the colours and names of various produce while discussing which foods help keep our bodies healthy.
A highlight of the trip was when each child chose their own fruits or snacks, had them weighed, and queued at the cashier. This hands-on activity helped them learn basic shopping skills and practise independence and social interaction.
The trip was a wonderful opportunity to support the children’s understanding of healthy choices, colours, and everyday life skills. Everyone returned to school with BIG smiles and exciting stories to share!
PRE-K - Field Trip
Written by Ms. Joy
The Pre-K class had an amazing field trip to Branchsto Farm, where laughter and excitement filled the air! The children made new furry and feathered friends, from fluffy rabbits to gentle horses. They giggled with joy while riding a pony and bouncing along on a wagon train. Feeding the animals was a big hit—especially handing treats to bunnies, tortoises and a hungry pony. The adventure continued as they bravely touched a smooth snake and a spiky iguana, then smiled with small, chirpy birds.
No one felt tired because there was too much fun to be cherished! The kids enjoyed eating together, sharing stories, and laughing nonstop. From wagon rides to animal cuddles, every moment was packed with joy. The trip was a perfect mix of learning and play, leaving everyone with happy memories and maybe even a new favourite animal friend!
As the day ended, everyone agreed—this was one field trip they’d never forget. The Pre-K class returned with muddy shoes, happy hearts, and stories to tell for days!
K1 - Field Trip
Written by Ms. April and Ms. Lorely
On 9 May 2025, our K1 students embarked on an exciting field trip to House of Bread Agro (HOB), a visit designed to enrich their learning about our Term 4 theme, Living Things. This hands-on experience gave the children an opportunity to explore and interact with plants and animals in a natural and engaging environment.
At HOB, the students learnt about hydroponic planting, getting a chance to see how plants can grow without soil—a fascinating extension of what they’ve learnt in class. One of the highlights was the mini petting zoo, where students encountered animals such as dogs, parrots, ostriches, and even a peacock and peahen. They delighted in feeding tortoises and playing gently with the friendly dogs.
Another memorable activity was the aquarium workshop, where each child caught a small fish and decorated a mini aquarium to take home. This not only allowed them to express creativity but also helped them understand more about aquatic life and animal care.
Though the day was packed with activity and adventure, the students returned tired but full of joy and excitement. It was a wonderful learning experience that sparked curiosity and deepened their appreciation for the living things around them.
K2 - Field Trip
Written by Ms. Klara and Ms. Czarina
Our recent field trip to Polisi Sahabat Anak at Pusdik Lantas was a memorable and exciting experience for our Kindergarten 2 students!
The children had the special opportunity to interact with real police officers and learn about the important work they do in our community. They discovered that police officers have different roles—from traffic officers to detectives—and discussed how each one plays a part in keeping us safe.
A highlight of the visit was learning about traffic safety. The officers taught the children a fun and catchy song about how to cross the road safely using the zebra crossing and reminded them to always buckle up and stay safe in the car. The students also had the chance to ride a police motorbike and take a fun tour in a police car around the training area—which brought lots of smiles and laughter!
It was a day filled with learning, excitement, and hands-on experiences. We are grateful to our friends at Pusdik Lantas for warmly welcoming us and helping our students understand safety in such an engaging and memorable way.
GRADE 1 - Music
Written by Ms. Melissa
Over the past few weeks, Grade 1 students have been joyfully immersed in preparing for their upcoming year-end performance. This special event is a highlight of the school year, giving students the opportunity to showcase their musical growth and creativity. As part of their preparation, the children have been learning a selection of songs and choreographed movements during their music lessons. These performances not only highlight their vocal abilities but also their growing confidence in expressing themselves through music and movement.
In addition to rehearsing for the performance, the students have been actively engaged in ensemble activities during music class. These sessions provide hands-on experience with a variety of percussion instruments, including the xylophone, boomwhackers, and glockenspiel. Through these activities, students are learning to read simple rhythms, follow a conductor, and maintain steady beats while playing in a group setting. The ensemble work is particularly valuable in developing foundational music skills such as rhythm, timing, coordination, and pitch recognition. Moreover, it cultivates important social-emotional skills like patience, turn-taking, active listening, and collaboration. Working together as a team to create harmonious music has been a fun and rewarding experience for the students.
We look forward to seeing all their hard work come to life during the year-end performance, and we are confident it will be a memorable and heartwarming event for students, teachers, and families.
GRADE 2 - English
Written by Mr. Robert
Over the past few weeks, Grade 2 have been getting ready for their upcoming assessments by focusing on key skills like listening, comprehension and writing. We’ve been doing a lot of practice in class to help everyone feel more confident and prepared. In our listening activities, students have been working on following instructions carefully and picking out important details from short stories and passages. This helps build their focus and makes it easier to understand what they hear.
In comprehension, we’ve been reading a range of texts together and discussing the main ideas, characters and settings. Students have been learning how to answer questions by finding evidence in the text and explaining their thinking clearly. We’ve also spent time working in pairs and small groups to share ideas and learn from each other. Everyone has been encouraged to take their time, read carefully and think before answering.
Writing has also been a big focus. We’ve been working on writing full sentences, organising ideas into paragraphs and checking our work for spelling and punctuation. Some of our writing tasks have been connected to the stories we’ve read, while others gave students a chance to be creative and come up with their own ideas. It’s been great to see everyone putting in effort and improving a little more each week.
Overall, we’re proud of how much progress everyone has made. The assessments will give students a chance to show what they’ve learnt and how hard they’ve worked. We’ll continue to review and support them in the days leading up to the tests. Thank you to all the parents who have been helping at home. Every bit of extra reading and writing practice makes a difference.
GRADE 3 - Science
Written by Ms. Shirley
Our Grade 3 students have been busy exploring the wonders of electricity in Chapter 9 of their science lessons. With curious minds and hands-on activities, they’ve been learning how electric circuits work.
One exciting discovery was what happens when there’s a break in a circuit—the electricity stops flowing, and the device turns off! This helped students understand why a full, unbroken path is important for electricity to do its job.
They also had fun experimenting with switches, acting like little engineers. They learnt that a switch can open or close a circuit, like turning a light on and off at home.
Another fun challenge was seeing how the number or type of components in a circuit can change the brightness of a lamp. The more bulbs or weaker batteries they added, the dimmer the light became. It was a great way to see science in action!
Students also tested different materials to find out which ones are good conductors (like copper and metal) and which are insulators (like plastic and rubber). Their eyes lit up with excitement each time their circuits worked!
To wrap up the unit, students took on a hands-on challenge to build a simple circuit using wires, a battery, a bulb, and a paperclip as a switch. They were amazed to see how a small piece of metal could control the flow of electricity when moved into place. It was a fun, practical way to show how switches work!
Our young scientists lit up the classroom with energy, creativity, and discoveries!
GRADE 4 - Indonesian Language
Indonesian Language Literature (ILL)

🍽️ Exploring Indonesian Traditional Food
As part of our Bahasa Indonesia learning journey, our Grade 4 students recently explored one of the most flavourful and cultural aspects of Indonesia: traditional food! 🇮🇩
In this activity, students were introduced to a variety of Indonesian dishes from different regions — from the spicy rendang of West Sumatra to the sweet klepon of Java. They learned not only about the ingredients and flavours, but also the cultural stories and origins behind each dish.
To deepen their learning, each student selected one traditional dish and wrote a short text in Bahasa Indonesia explaining how to make it. Using simple sentences, they described the ingredients, the steps to prepare the food, and even drew or included a photo of the dish. This task was more than just writing a recipe — it was a chance for students to connect language with real-life experiences!
Indonesian Language Acquisition (ILA)
Written by Ms. Ayu
Our Grade 4 Indonesian Language Acquisition class, students engaged in fun and meaningful activities to strengthen their vocabulary, sentence structure, and communication skills.
Our outdoor session began with traditional Indonesian games like Ular Naga and Engklek. These games not only introduced cultural context but also encouraged teamwork, movement, and the use of basic instructions in Bahasa Indonesia. Students enthusiastically followed directions and interacted using target vocabulary while enjoying the fresh air and green surroundings.
Inside the classroom, learning continued with a hands-on sentence-building activity. Using colourful word cards, students worked individually and in pairs to construct simple Indonesian sentences. Words such as ibu, masak, kue, and nanti malam were used to build grammatically correct and meaningful sentences. The activity sparked creativity and laughter, especially as students read their funny or surprising sentence combinations to the class.
Through these interactive lessons, students developed confidence in using Indonesian in both spoken and written forms. They practised word order, improved their reading fluency, and most importantly, learnt through joyful, purposeful play.
