IB MYP Student Innovators’ Grant Awardees of 2022
The International Baccalaureate (IB) announces this year's finalists for the 2022 Dr. Siva Kumari MYP Student Innovators’ Grant. This platform gives the opportunity for Middle Years Programme (MYP) students to build vital skills to become the socially conscious leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs the world needs today. Only a handful of 30 students were selected from across IB schools around the globe and the winners are eligible to receive the Dr. Siva Kumari MYP Student Innovators’ Grant. Two students from SWA won the award: Sanandha and Ayden. Their projects were selected after a competitive two-stage application and review process and were required to exercise advocacy for authenticity, social impact, and personal connection toward the initiative. Each winner received funding of up to USD $10,000, to support project financial needs and ensure project success.
Finalists for the Dr. Siva Kumari MYP Student Innovators' Grant were announced by the IB on their website on October 7th, 2022:
Ayden’s project, “Reimaging Agricultural Vehicles: TeZoid: Auto-Regulated Wireless Recharging Mechanism with A.I. to surge agricultural growth,” while Sanandha focused her project on the challenges faced by women during menstruation among “Manusia Gerobak” or the cart people.

SWA LITERACY PROGRAMME
Your partner in building a strong foundation in English literacy skills is here. Join the SWA Literacy Programme! The SWA Literacy Programme features JOLLY PHONICS for ages 3-6. It is a comprehensive programme that employs a child-centered and multisensory approach to teaching the 42 sounds of the alphabet, which motivates children to build words as early as possible.
The programme is also offered to Elementary School students aged 7-11 years old. In this programme, literacy skills, (listening, speaking, reading, and writing), are further developed through exposure to stories of various genres. The language exercises are combined with activities that focus on comprehension skills (eg. summarising, inferencing, comparing, and contrasting) that they can apply to all reading situations.
