MSHS
Written by Mr. Robert
Successful leadership within an international context requires input and feedback from all stakeholders, including parents/guardians, students, teachers and staff and as a new Co-Principal here at SWA this is even more important to help me do the best job possible!
In order to clarify the lines of communication and keep them as open and organised as possible, we should review the contact information for the MSHS leadership and administrative teams so that our communication is effective and supports the teaching, learning and personal development for all Middle and High School students at SWA.
MSHS Admin - mshs_admin@swa-jkt.com - The wonderfully supportive staff in the MSHS office is always available to assist parents and students with basic procedures such as attendance, announcements, special events and general student management.
MSHS Coordinators - Ms. Marta marta_bobiatynska@swa-jkt.com (Diploma Programme) and Mr. Haoken haoken_huoermaiti@swa-jkt.com (Middle Years Programme) - The IB Programme Coordinators are available to assist students and parents with questions about classes, curriculum and academic concerns. They are your source for anything involving IB teaching and learning in MSHS.
MSHS Counsellors - Ms. Lindi laurensia_paramastuti@swa-jkt.com (Social and Emotional) and Mr. Stan stanislav_sousek@swa-jkt.com (College and Careers) are available to support our students' needs in almost any area that you can imagine. As always, their work is completely confidential and so you can reach out to them about anything at all while encouraging your children to do the same.
MSHS Co-Principal - Mr. Rob robert_taylor@swa-jkt.com is my professional email and you are free to email me directly at any time about anything at all, especially if there is a serious matter to be addressed. I strongly encourage parents to reach out and email me if they have any questions or concerns that they may have, or just to say hello or share some positive news!
In order to take the initiative and open the lines of communication and feedback, I have MSHS general feedback survey (form will close 23 August) in order to collect your points of view on your experience at SWA. This survey is not collecting emails and is completely anonymous and confidential. Feel free to share your opinions on the positive things you have experienced and suggest areas of improvement. I will take them on board as I get settled into my role as the educational leader with the MSHS.
Thank you in advance for your participation and support. I look forward to an amazing academic year and hope to have the chance to meet you all in person at one of our full-school events.
MYP Update
Written by Mr. Haoken
Dear Students and Parents/Guardians,
As we embark on another exciting academic year at Sinarmas World School, I am delighted to welcome both new and returning families to our Middle Years Programme (MYP). We hope you had a restful and rejuvenating break and are ready for the learning adventures ahead.
This year promises to be particularly special as we continue to build on our strong foundation of academic excellence, innovation, and holistic education. As your MYP Coordinator, I am committed to ensuring that our students receive a rich, engaging, and supportive educational experience.
I am thrilled to share that I had the privilege of attending the IB Curriculum Development meeting at the IB Global Head Office in The Hague, Netherlands, from June 12-14, 2024. This opportunity allowed me to collaborate with educators from around the world and gain valuable insights into the latest developments and best practices in IB education. These learnings will directly benefit our students and enhance our teaching strategies.
At SWA, we believe in fostering a nurturing environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Our dedicated team of educators is passionate about guiding our students through the IB journey, encouraging them to become inquirers, thinkers, and compassionate global citizens.
We look forward to a year filled with growth, discovery, and success. Together, let us support our students in reaching their highest potential and making meaningful contributions to our community and beyond.
Thank you for your continued trust and partnership in your child's education. Here's to a wonderful and productive school year ahead!

Music
Written by Mr. Freddy
Music education is a cornerstone of the MYP curriculum, playing a critical role in the holistic development of pre-teens and teenagers. During these formative years, exposure to music not only nurtures creativity and musicality but also contributes significantly to cognitive, emotional, and social growth. Through music, students develop a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them, fostering skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
Music offers a unique outlet for self-expression, supporting students navigate the complexities of adolescence. It enhances their creativity, sharpens their musical sense, and provides a platform for them to experiment with ideas and emotions. As they engage with music, students build resilience and discipline, qualities that are essential for their overall development.
Last year, our middle and high school students embarked on an incredible musical journey, participating in various performances and events that showcased their growth and talent. These experiences not only lifted their musical abilities but also significantly boosted their confidence on stage. Students who once hesitated to take the spotlight found their voices, delivering impressive solo performances that left a lasting impact.
Through ensemble playing, singing, and musical, we witnessed remarkable improvements in musicianship, creativity, and self-esteem. The courage and confidence displayed by our students, many of whom performed solo were truly inspiring. Their journey from tentative beginners to accomplished performers is a testament to the power of music education.
We invite you to relive these moments by watching last year’s remarkable performances during the Recognition Day Assembly, the final assembly of the semester hosted by last year's MYP 3 students. It’s a celebration of the growth and achievements of our talented students, and a glimpse of the exciting musical adventures yet to come. Check the video below, recorded by Mr. Ken from the SWA Design Team.
