CONGRATULATIONS

CEMC Computing and Mathematics Contest - Organised by University of Waterloo

The Beaver Computing Challenge and Canadian Computing Competition were organised by the CEMC at the University of Waterloo to promote computer science and develop problem-solving and computational skills. Both competitions tested the participants' programming abilities and allowed them to improve their confidence and skills. Congratulations to all the winners who received Distinction Awards at the BCC in November 2022 and the CCC in February 2023.

SWA students also participated in the Canadian Senior and Intermediate Mathematics Contests in November 2022 organised by the University of Waterloo. The contests provide students with opportunities to enhance problem-solving skills, increase confidence in mathematics and tap into their creativity. The school extends gratitude to dedicated teachers and supportive parents who helped the students prepare. Congratulations to all students who achieved distinction.

TEDxYouth@SWA 2023

Sinarmas World Academy (SWA) school once again brought an inspirational conference for young people through the TEDxYouth event. The event, held at Sinarmas World Academy, is an annual event that has been held for six consecutive years. This year's TEDxYouth@SWA theme is "Empowering Inner Self: Be Relevant, Resonant, and Radiant".

With the rapid development of the times, various changes and latest innovations are emerging in the midst of the world's modernization. As individuals, we should have strong principles that can be used as the main reference in empowering ourselves and making ourselves more relevant to the world's needs. Through good self-empowerment attitudes, we can do something that we have chosen, where it can resonate with the values we hold.

The 6th TEDxYouth event was expected to inspire individuals to empower themselves better and make themselves more relevant to the development of the modern world through sharing by 8 professional speakers from various backgrounds and specializations.

The speakers who attended included Rudiantara (Minister of Information and Technology of The Republic of Indonesia 2014-2019), Ernanda Putra (Founder & CEO MAKNA Group), Vishal Dasani (Fitness & Sleep Educator), Renaldo Sutjiady (Program Manager New Energy Nexus), Graciela Gabrielle Angeline (Co-Founder & CMO PetaNetra), Febrian Pottanobu (Co-Founder Duckie Land), Stephanie Regina (Founder & CEO Haloka Group), and Sonny Samuel (Managing Director, Head of Global Markets UOB Indonesia).

TEDxYouth@SWA not only features professional speakers, but a number of Sinarmas World Academy students and teachers, Yusuf Hashmi (grade 6), Jaeyi Kim (grade 10), James William Hanzell (grade 11), Wong Pak Yan (grade 9), Kevin Blissett, and Stanislav Karel Sousek shared their inspiring stories and experiences directly with the hope of motivating young people to continue developing and adapting to the various challenges of this modern era.

Through TEDxYouth@SWA, we at Sinarmas World Academy is committed to gather and amplify greatest ideas for young generations, also inspire them to become lifelong learners and future changemakers.

Term 3 Student Report Pick-Up

All Term 3 Reports will be physically collected by parents/guardians at SWA’s campus in BSD City on Thursday, March 16th, 2023. Parents/Guardians will enter SWA campus by car and then be directed to the appropriate pickup location by staff. The Report Card pick up process will be drive-thru in style. 

Vehicles will enter in the normal location near the Arts Lobby door where staff will collect names of students so that reports can be prepared and quickly collected after driving through the underground parking structure.

For safety reasons, please note the steps to follow: 

Pick-up by Parents

Step 1: Facemask/face-shield is mandatory

Step 2: Show Parent’s SWA ID to the Admin upon pick-up

Step 3: SWA staff will take a photo (for documentation) in place of signing the receipt to reduce physical contact

Pick-up by Guardian (registered in SWA)

Step 1: Facemask/face-shield is mandatory

Step 2: Bring the required documents to be shown to Admin upon pick-up;

• ‘Power of Attorney’ letter with stamp and signed by the Parent

• Guardian’s SWA ID

Note: Guardian may only take the report card upon presentation of all the required documents above

Step 3: SWA staff will take a photo (for documentation) in place of signing the receipt to reduce physical contact

If parents/guardians do not feel comfortable or choose not to come to school, reports will be stored until Term 3 for distribution. 

Pickup times for reports on Thursday, March 16th, 2023, are as follows. Note families with students in EYES and MSHS can come at either time. Please send an email to the Admin support (eyes_admin@swa-jkt.com / mshs_admin@swa-jkt.com) for another appointment if you will not be able to pick up the report on the designated schedule below.
