Toddler Understanding The World
Written by Ms. Mary Ann
This term, the toddler class explored different parts of their bodies through fun, hands-on activities. They began by singing songs about body parts and creating faces on paper bags, carefully placing eyes, noses, and mouths.
Their senses were awakened as they tasted lemons and oranges, wrinkling their noses at the strong smells of garlic and onions. They also explored sound by banging and shaking instruments, filling the room with cheerful, lively tunes.
Their little hands, fingers, feet, and toes explored various textures, including smooth, rough, soft, cold, and warm surfaces. It was delightful to watch them engage with these new sensations and, for some, overcome sensitivities to certain textures. Additionally, the children learned how to care for their bodies by brushing their teeth and developed motor skills by practising climbing and walking on the beam.

Each activity provided a valuable opportunity for the children to speak and use Chinese confidently. In this immersive environment, they not only learned new words but also developed a genuine interest in the language.

PreK Indonesian Language
Written by Ms. Val
We began the week by familiarizing ourselves with the letter C. Students were introduced to the letter C in both its uppercase and lowercase forms. This foundational skill is essential as we progress in our language studies.
Next, we explored words that start with the letter C. Some of the key vocabulary included:
Capung (Dragonfly)
Cicak (Lizard)
Celana (Pants)
Ceri (Cherry)
We practiced pronouncing these words, ensuring that the Pre-K students felt comfortable with both their pronunciation and meanings.
To make learning enjoyable, we incorporated games and crafts into our lessons. One of the highlights was a letter “C” puzzle game, where students worked in groups to arrange a paper puzzle into a large letter C. On Thursday, the Pre-K class continued their lesson with a craft activity focused on objects and activities that start with the letter C, such as Cuci (wash) and Celana (pants).
Overall, this week was a success, as students made significant progress in recognizing and using the letter C. Their engagement in activities and discussions showcased their growing confidence in Bahasa Indonesia. We are excited about the progress everyone is making and can’t wait to see what the next week brings!
K1 PE
Written by Mr. Victor
In K1 PE class, students revisited the fundamentals of running and walking, focusing on maintaining good form—keeping their eyes forward, swinging their arms, and controlling their breathing to sustain a steady pace. Following this, they participated in a playwork session where they explored various PE equipment, such as cones, foam balls, and rings. This activity encouraged them to design their own challenges, promoting creativity, teamwork, and collaboration.
K2 Literacy

FUN WITH READING AND WORDS!
Stories take us anywhere without leaving the school. Children’s imaginations soar every time they sit down for storytelling, whether in the library or in the classroom. This has become a weekly activity for the K2 class, and it's something they eagerly look forward to. Mastering letter sounds to help them read is a priority we take seriously. Given their high energy, incorporating movements like clapping, jumping, and hopping while segmenting words is something they all enjoy, making learning both fun and effective.

Grade 2 ICT
Written by Mr. Aldrin
In Grade 2, students begin exploring foundational technology skills such as navigating Google Maps, practising proper typing, and understanding basic computer networks. Through Google Maps, they virtually explore the world, learning how to search for locations, read maps, and navigate digital tools. Typing lessons focus on transitioning from informal typing to structured use of all ten fingers on a QWERTY keyboard, with fun exercises and games to build accuracy and speed.
Introducing computer networks helps students understand how devices communicate, using simple examples like home WiFi networks. They learn that networks allow devices to share information, making connections to everyday technology. These lessons provide an engaging way to develop essential digital literacy skills that will support their future learning.
Grade 3 Arts
Written by Ms. Adelina
In this engaging Grade 3 activity, students are creating paper clay mooncakes as part of an interdisciplinary project that combines Visual Arts and Chinese lessons in preparation for the Mid-Autumn Festival. The process involves shaping the mooncakes using soft paper clay, which helps enhance their fine motor skills as they mould and press intricate designs onto the clay.
After the mooncakes dry, the students paint and decorate them with watercolours, which further develops their hand-eye coordination and precision in handling brushes. This activity not only fosters creativity and patience but also deepens cultural understanding, as students learn about the significance of the Mid-Autumn Festival in Chinese culture. Through hands-on work, they gain both artistic skills and a cultural connection, preparing them to celebrate the festival with greater insight and appreciation.
Grade 4 PSD - My Proud Moments!
Written by Ms. Lecya
When someone asks, “What is your greatest achievement?” or “What is your proudest moment?”, the first thoughts that usually come to mind are winning a competition, being the best, or ranking first. However, being proud of yourself doesn't always have to be about big victories; it can simply mean appreciating your own efforts and accomplishments, no matter how small.
In a recent Grade 4 PSD lesson, we focused on just that—helping students recognise and celebrate their achievements, skills, and personal successes. The goal of the activity was to build their self-awareness and sense of competence, which in turn boosts confidence. Each student was asked to prepare a presentation on their “Proud Moments,” sharing something they had accomplished or a skill they were proud of. We encouraged them to start with something small, like a skill they excelled at, a favourite subject, or a compliment they had received from a friend about a specific skill. At the end of the session, each student presented their “Proud Moment,” while their classmates had the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about each other’s accomplishments.
Grade 5 Maths - The Power of Teamwork in Learning
Written by Ms. Cherry
As educators, we recognise that collaboration and teamwork are essential for effective learning. When students engage in peer discussions, they have the opportunity to share ideas and learn from one another.
Recently, our Grade 5 students explored various number operations. The collaborative activities helped deepen their understanding of the topics and encouraged critical thinking. Additionally, the friendly competition among their classmates was both motivating and enjoyable for them, inspiring them to strive for excellence in a dynamic learning environment.
We also completed pair work tasks, where students solved problems together, allowing them to combine their strengths and tackle challenges as a team. Not only does this enhance academic performance, but it also cultivates important social skills such as communication and empathy.
By supporting one another, they develop resilience and learn how to overcome obstacles together. Ultimately, fostering collaboration and teamwork enriches the educational experience and prepares them for future challenges, both academically and in their lives.
