Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to the new academic year. I hope all of you had a restful and wonderful holiday and are ready to embark on an exciting journey for the upcoming school year. I would like to extend a warm welcome to both our returning families and those joining us for the first time.
At SWA, we are dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and respected. This year, we are placing a special emphasis on creating a caring community to promote kindness and positive interactions. Our goal is to ensure that every student can thrive in a safe and nurturing atmosphere. To achieve this, we will implement the following:
Incorporating Empathy, Kindness, and Respect into Our Curriculum: We will continue to integrate lessons on these important values into our curriculum. These programs are designed to help students understand the impact of their actions and develop positive relationships with their peers.
Providing Support through School Counsellors and Staff: Our school counsellors and staff will continue to support students who may be facing any challenges. We encourage open communication and will provide the necessary resources and guidance to ensure that every student feels heard and supported.
Maintaining a Strong Partnership between School and Home: We will be offering workshops and resources for parents to equip you with the tools to support your children in navigating social situations and fostering a positive school climate.
As we embark on this journey together, I invite you to join us in our mission to create a caring and supportive community. Your involvement and support are crucial to our success, and I encourage you to reach out with any questions, concerns, or ideas.

Greeting from MSHS Co-Principal
Dear Sinarmas World Academy Community,
I am thankful and excited for the opportunity to serve in my new role as Middle and High School Co-Principal for the upcoming academic year 2024-2025. As we begin planning for what lies ahead, I have been overwhelmed by the supportive and collaborative approach that I have received from the SWA team members who I will be working closely with for the foreseeable future.
I’ve gone to school every year of my life, as a student, teacher and now administrator, because I love being part of an active learning community and all of the things that go along with it. To lead a school community effectively, I believe it is most important to learn and grow along with the students, parents and teachers. You will see this in many ways when I am participating in classes, coaching sports or organising events. My biggest motivation is observing the personal and academic growth of each and every student under my care.
I look forward to the opening of school on August 5th to greeting the returning students and welcoming all of the new SWA students and teachers. It is not easy moving to a new school in a new country and this is a challenge I will certainly share with other new arrivals.
Please be sure to come say hello and introduce yourself, so that we may all work together to make this school year the best it can be.
Warm regards,
Mr. Robert Taylor
MSHS Co-Principal

EY Department
Written by Ms. Ann
The EY Department believes that PLAY is crucial for nurturing well-rounded and resilient students. The school has embraced the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum from the United Kingdom, which supports children's development from birth to five years old. This framework is essential for their overall growth in physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and language skills.
We are dedicated to providing interactive and age-appropriate activities across all class levels. The Jolly Phonics reading programme has helped children become confident readers early on, enabling them to spell, write sentences, and read with ease. We also promote love for books by reading stories, sending daily reading materials home and providing stories from the library.
Additionally, we offer diverse experiences in subjects like maths, science, music, and movement to enhance students' skills and potential. The curriculum introduces Chinese and Indonesian languages to build strong linguistic skills and promote cultural understanding. This prepares children to communicate effectively across diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
We take pride in our students' early participation and success in Maths competitions, earning awards both nationally and internationally. As a dynamic school, we strive to meet the needs of all our students and prepare them for a bright future.

Welcome back to school students and parents!
A new academic year brings hope, excitement and new opportunities for learning. As we strive to create a safe and caring environment, our goal is to ensure the students feel valued and supported, despite of academic, personal or social challenges they face.
Home-school partnership is the key to achieve the goal. Your roles in communicating and collaborating with school will help us to provide proper supports for the students. Please reach out to us if you have any questions, concerns or insights you might want to share regarding your child’s well-being and challenges.
Starting a new school year could be challenging for parents and students. Please take a look at the table below for some strategies that you can practise together with your children at home in preparing for the new school year. Thank you for your continued support and let’s work together in making a memorable year for your child.
Your Child’s Safety is Our Top Priority!
Ensuring children's safety is our utmost priority. We are proactively undertaking comprehensive maintenance and enhancements to keep everything in top condition. This includes floor replacements, wall repairs, painting, and roof upgrades. We are also revamping the parking and security areas to enhance overall safety. These preventive measures are all about creating a secure and happy space where our students can thrive. Thank you for being a part of the wonderful community at Sinarmas World Academy (SWA)!
The textbook distribution has begun for batch 1. We would like to thank everyone for the smooth coordination and we hope to see more parents and students as we all get ready for the new academic year.
It is highly appreciated if students settle any library fines/unreturned books from AY 2023-2024. The new textbooks and future borrowing will only be opened to students who have cleared their accounts in the library system.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch with the library team through library@swa-jkt.com if you have any questions or concerns.
