I was raised in the greater Washington, DC area. Growing up I played soccer, lacrosse, swam and rode horses.
I earned my Bachelor's in Biology at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Specifically, I studied bacteria living in extreme environments and forest fire ecology.
I started in education as an outdoor ed instructor at the Catalina Island Marine Institute. I took students snorkeling and hiking. Together we learned about the ocean and island ecology.
In 2010, I moved to Buffalo, Wyoming. There I worked for the BLM and completed bird surveys for oil and gas companies. This is also where I met my husband!
I earned my Master's in Science Education and have been teaching for the district for 10 years.
My hobbies include cooking, hunting, fishing, hiking, and scuba diving. Basically anything outdoors!
