Jeremy A. Skelton serves as the Director of Choral Activities and Performing Arts Department Chair at Silver Creek High School. Teaching choral music since 2001, he is currently celebrating his 21st year with the Silver Creek community. Before settling in Colorado, Jeremy taught in both New York City and Shenandoah, Iowa. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a Master’s Degree in Choral Conducting from Florida State University.
Deeply passionate about choral music, Mr. Skelton works every day to create opportunities where students and audiences can share in that same joy. Through rich, diverse repertoire and high artistic standards, he encourages his singers to reach new creative heights and discover personal connections that truly bring the music to life. Beyond the notes on the page, his goal is to cultivate a warm, tight-knit community of singers and parents who become lifelong lovers—and fierce advocates—of choral music.
Outside of the classroom, Mr. Skelton stays busy making music and enjoying the outdoors. You can often find him playing the hammered dulcimer, hitting the disc golf course, or singing with Cantabile, a Boulder-based choir. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, he heads home whenever he can to visit family and friends. Best of all, he loves jamming out to old-time and bluegrass music with his family band alongside his mom, sister, and two nephews.
Dr. James H. Morris is a pianist-composer and teacher based in Colorado. Originally from Newark, New Jersey, he has called Colorado home since 2020—along with his cockapoo, Dill. When he's not at the piano, you can usually find him playing basketball, composing, or, this summer, experimenting in the kitchen with a new baking hobby!
James holds a Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Colorado Boulder, where he studied with Dr. Jennifer Hayghe, and earned his Bachelor of Music degrees in Piano and Theory/Composition from Westminster Choir College of Rider University in New Jersey.
James is thrilled to be joining this community of passionate musicians and can't wait to make wonderful music together—he might even sing in the choir!
