Our SVVSD District Festival Orchestra membership is chosen by teacher recommendation. It is generally comprised of solidly dedicated 7th and 8th grade string students who have shown themselves to be responsible members of their school orchestra.
There are now 12 string orchestra programs in SVVSD. Students chosen for this event attend one evening rehearsal and one all day field trip & clinic. They prepare a concert program of music in a short amount of time. Attendees get section coaching from the SVVSD teacher who specializes in their instrument.
