Description:

Math 8, also known as Pre-Algebra, is a class that focuses on preparing students for Algebra 1 the following year. It is a general level course that also prepares the student to take the 8th grade PSSAs and covers concepts that are used across all spectrums of life. Topics the class will cover are: Real Numbers, Solving Equations, Equations in Two Variables, Transformations, Triangles and the Pythagorean Theorem, Congruence and Similarity, Volume and Surface Area, Systems of Equations, Scatter Plots and Data Analysis, and Functions.

Grading:

Overall grades will be determined by 5 categories all weighted to a percentage of the total grade.

ALEKS (15%), Classwork (15%), Homework (20%), Quizzes (20%), and Tests (30%)
