Our Classroom Expectations

Students who do not meet grade level expectations on Assessments such as:

Grade Level Baseline Assessments

DIBELS  K-4

Phonics Informal Screener (The Reading League)

A Universal Screener-DIBELS (Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills) is administered by Title One in September-January-May

If your child qualifies for Title I, you will receive a letter stating Reading services will be provided.

Your child will then be assessed by a Title One Provider using a DRA (Developmental Reading Assessment).  An individualized Reading program will then be implemented that will focus on your child’s strengths and weaknesses with regard to reading skills.

Schedules have been made to accommodate students during times that work around direct instruction times.

Title I will be broken into two separate groups.  Intensive Reading Instruction (Tier 3) and General Title I groups (Tier 2).  Students who have received a specialized reading program in the past will begin to work in a small group on Intensive skills in order to meet grade-level expectations.

Your child's Title I teacher will either push into the classroom or pull students into a small group to work with corrective reading programs or provide support for the classroom curriculum.

Each Title I team member has a specific Kindergarten class that they will provide reading and math support to for all students within that classroom.
