Class Information

5th, 6th, 7th ELA

This is a small , special education, ELA classroom of 5th, 6th and 7th grade students.

Students keep their ELA materials in the room. 

Books do not travel home. 

If students need  to complete homework it is assigned daily and they are to write it in their agenda at the start of class. 

We will have a spelling list every week with a quiz on Fridays.

Student will begin the year writing journals and improving their short response writing. As the year progresses they will be learning to write essays of varying styles. A lot of this writing will be done on a Chromebook.


5th & 6th Grade math


This is a small ,special education, 5th and 6th grade math class. Both 5th grade and 6th grade curriculum will be taught.

We do not use a class text book, but rather a note packet for each unit. This year students have a binder that they keep their daily notes and homework in. 

Students have homework daily, but it is often supported in math lab. If homework is assigned the students are to write it in their agenda at the beginning of every class. 

Students will also be responsible to completing weekly IXL assingments. These will be worked on throughout the week in math lab with the expectation that they are finished by the following Monday.

5th grade resource


This class supports reading, writing, math and organizational skills.

There are no grades for Resource, but each students individual learning plan goals are monitored regularly. At the end of every marking period progress notes will be sent home. 

Students are working on individualized goals daily. The focus is typically  decoding skills, reading comprehension, writing, and math skills. 

7th grade resource

This class supports reading, writing, math and organizational skills. There is also curriculum support given

Students are working on individualized goals daily. They are also provided with time during class to get support on math homework, have material retaught and contact their general education teachers.
