Nanotechnology: We will be learning what is meant whenever we hear the prefix "nano", as well as why learning about things that happen at the nano scale are worth knowing!. Not only will we see how the "normal" laws of science don't quite apply the same way at this scale, but we will also study how these strange changes are used in the technologies of today and the future.

AP Physics 1/SC 133 through Herkimer College: We will be going deeper into the study of mechanics than we did last year. Topics include kinematics, forces, circular motion, gravitation, energy, momentum, simple harmonic motion, rotational motion, gravitation, and waves. Students will take the AP exam in May and are also eligible for credit through Herkimer College upon successful completion of the course.

Regents Physics: We will sample a little bit of many different areas of physics in this introductory course. Topics will include kinematics, forces, gravitation, circular motion, momentum, energy, electricity, waves, and modern physics. Students will take a Regents exam in June; in order to take this, they must have at least 1200 certified lab minutes compiled by Memorial Day, done by turning in labs throughout the year and earning a passing grade (65 or higher) on them.
