The SUU Department of Theatre, Dance, and Arts Administration welcomes you to our campus for an action-packed DAY OF DANCE for. This event is open to advanced middle school and all high school-level dancers (not just seniors!) as well as prospective incoming Dance/Dance Education Majors who already attend SUU. DAY OF DANCE provides an array of experiences right here on SUU's Campus including:
Dance classes in Jazz, Ballet, & Modern taught by SUU Dance Faculty
Opportunities for prospective SUU Dance/Dance Education Majors to complete dance technique level placement auditions *
Opportunities for graduating high school seniors and transfer students to participate in SUU Scholarship Interviews w/ Faculty. ** (These can also be available to high school juniors and sophomores to practice their interview skills).
Opportunities to meet the Dance Faculty and current SUU students
Attendance of the matinée performance of our department's production of the Student Dance Concert
Post-performance Q&A with SUU Dance Program Students and Faculty

8:30 - 8:55 am Participant Check-In (Multi-Purpose (MC) Center Building South Entrance)
8:55pm - 9:00am Faculty Welcome and Introductions (MC 116)
9:00am - 10:00am Modern & Improv (MC 116A)
10:05am - 10:55am Jazz (MC 116A)
11:00pm - 11:50am Ballet (MC 116A)
12:00 pm- 12:45 pm Snack Break (not provided) and Meet & Greet with SUU Dancers (MC 116)
12:00 pm- 12:45 pm Prospective SUU Scholarship Applicant Interviews for graduating seniors w/ Faculty (MC 116 A)
12:45pm -2:00pm Optional Campus Tour or Lunch (not provided)
2:00 pm: Attendance of SUU production of the Student Dance Concert Matinee & post-show Q&A (Randall Jones Theater)
Check-in will begin at 8:30am and take place on SUU's campus in the Multipurpose Center Rm 116. Please view SUU's campus map for more information.
Please complete the registration and liability forms prior to your arrival (see above) and note that auditions and classes are closed to the public.
Dance Classes taught by SUU Dance Faculty will take place 9:00am - 12:00pm. It is recommended for participants to come prepared with ballet slippers, socks, and jazz shoes, though socks will suffice for selected classes. Participants will also need to provide a water bottle and their own lunch.
Scholarship Interviews with prospective graduating high school seniors and transfer students with the Dance Faculty will take place 12:00pm-12:45pm. ** (These can also be available to high school juniors and sophomores to practice their interview skills). During this time students not interviweing will meet our current SUU students.
From 12:45pm-1:45pm participants have the option of a campus tour and/or lunch (not provided). The tour will conclude at the Randall Jones Theatre for a complimentary viewing of the Student Dance Concert at 2:00pm. A Q&A with SUU Dance Faculty and current students will directly follow the performance.

**There are inherent risks when dancing with/out others. Risks may include: dehydration, exhaustion, floor burns, unplanned physical contact with another, cramping, blisters, splits in the feet, and dizziness.
