“What excited me most about SUU Dance was the opportunity to study Jazz, Modern, and Ballet at equal levels. I am also drawn in by the mentorship awarded here. Each professor plays an integral role in helping you through the program and beyond. Being from a rural area I didn’t have a lot of opportunities to take master classes except at events like High School Shakes, and it always opened my eyes to new ideas, possibilities, and perspectives. Being in that environment with a lot of new people was always very inspiring as a young dancer, and a huge part of why I chose to come to SUU. ”

“The SUU Dance program truly is an incredible program, not only because of the experiences it offers, but also because of the skills and life lessons I have been able to take away from it. It has helped shape me into a better dancer and has allowed me to explore my personal artistry on a whole new level. Because of the way the program is structured and the professor's dedication to their students' growth, I have been able to push myself and reach for my highest potential. I am forever grateful for the opportunities this program has allowed me to have, for example, traveling to New York to participate in a dance intensive. I am so glad that I am able to be a part of and involved in such an incredible program.

“From technique classes to composition and choreography, I have enjoyed the wide variety of classes and experiences with SUU Dance. I love how the SUU Dance faculty cares about their students as humans first and foremost. The faculty make every space inviting while encouraging creativity and exploration. Choosing the SUU Dance program is truly one of the best decisions I have made! “

“SUU dance provided many opportunities for me to grow as an artist and dance educator. I was able to expand my skills and knowledge through a wide variety of technique, production, and dance education classes, which also helped me to prepare for the many performance and choreographic experiences I enjoyed.”
Larissa Hindes 2024 Graduate BS Dance Education
Adjunct Professor of Dance at Snow College
“Becoming a well-rounded dancer at SUU is an opportunity I will never take for granted. I not only learned to be proficient in many genres of dance, but also learned life lessons. I learned how to think bigger, explore my own creativity, and share stories through dance. The faculty members always treated me as a human first, and a dancer second. Their acts of kindness are helping to bring humanity back into the dance world. Graduating with a B.S. in Dance Education, I am now a professional performer, and an instructor. Changing my major from English Education to Dance Education was terrifying. But, joining the SUU Dance program will always be the best decision I ever made. I am forever grateful!”

“SUU Dance has given me so much more than the technical training to become a dancer; it prepared me to step confidently into a professional career. The opportunities to perform, choreograph, collaborate, and explore different styles helped me become a versatile and well-rounded artist. The faculty pushed me to grow both as a dancer and as a person. I am incredibly grateful for the foundation SUU Dance gave me and for the confidence it instilled in me to pursue my dreams. I will always be proud to be an SUU dancer and grateful for the people who helped me become the artist I am today.”
