positive mental health awareness week

30 April - 4 may 2018

The London Borough of Sutton, supported by the LSCB, ran an awareness week to promote and support positive mental health for young people.

The week focused on how young people can take care of their own mental health, by encouraging them to reflect on the factors which can impact on this. There was also be a focus on providing young people with strategies they can use to maintain good mental health and to cope with stresses and difficulties in a positive way.

As part of this week two parents and carers information evenings were held and we had a great turnout and positive response. The sessions focused on how parents and carers can help promote positive mental health for their children and was led by CAMHS, School Nursing, Social Services, and Education.
