Graduation Dress Code Guidelines and Honor Attire

Graduation attire options are as follows: 

• Dark colored dress shoes, dark socks, a dress shirt or plain polo, dress pants, and (preferably) a tie or bowtie. 

• Dress (preferably shorter than gown) and dress shoes

• Dark pants, dress shirt or blouse, dress shoes. 

In addition to abiding by the dress code for graduation ceremony, students will comply with the following:

1. Only wear the tassel provided in the cap & gown package

2. Only wear regalia recognized & provided by SHS/CPAVTS:  honor cords/sashes, military commitment cords, etc.

If you are enlisting in the military prior to graduation (before May 1, 2026), please give me your name and branch in which you are serving so that I may have you formally recognized in the graduation program and order you an honor cord.

This year, graduating seniors are permitted to decorate their caps for the ceremony. Seniors were provided the rules/guidelines for cap decorating and a parent signature page that must be returned before cap approval. Design ideas and parent permission slips must be submitted my May 23. Decorated caps must be brought to graduation practice on May 29th for final approval. If the decorated cap does not match the proposed design idea, or the student did not submit a proposed design idea, the student will receive a plain undecorated cap to wear for the graduation ceremony.
