Mrs. Spahr

Mrs. Spahr moved to the valley 23 years ago from Shelburne, Vermont. She holds a BA in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Landscape Architecture and Design from The University of Vermont and a Masters in Education from the University of Phoenix. Her position at Chaparral includes 19 years of teaching with SUSD. In 2014, she was awarded Chaparral’s Charros Outstanding Teacher of the Year. She continues to collaborate closely with major cultural agencies among them Young Arts Arizona LTD, The Phoenix Art Museum and the Umbrella Project. She feels fortunate to be practicing teaching and supporting what she loves, visual arts, by giving students the opportunity to express themselves, stretch themselves and respect themselves while creating and exhibiting their work. Mrs. Spahr spends her summers creating art and coaching for a local gymnastics club.
