Mrs. Despins

An educator for 18 years, Shawn Despins began her career in SUSD and has found her passion here. She began as a middle school teacher at Desert Canyon Middle School and has been at Chaparral High School since. Dedicated to students with learning disabilities, her heart in attached to students doing their very best. Currently she heads the Special Education Department and leads with the same passion she has dedicated to her career. She holds a BA and MA from Arizona State University. A mother of 2, daughter and son, she find her happiness as a working parent. A SUSD graduate herself, she is proud of where she came from and of the part she plays to help SUSD move into the future.
