Mr. Richard

This is Nathan Richard’s third year as Chaparral’s choir director and is very excited to continue to grow the program. Nathan received his Bachelor’s in Vocal Music Education with a concentration in piano from the University of Maine and his Master’s in Music Composition from Arizona State University. Nathan has worked professionally as a pianist and vocalist for a number of years and continues to do so while teaching at Chaparral. As a composer, Nathan has been commissioned in five different states around the country and continues to write music for ensembles. In his spare time, Nathan enjoys developing software for the iPhone and iPad and loves to play around with digital audio production. He has a passion for developing musical excellence in students of all ages. He believes everyone is capable of learning to engage with music and express themselves creatively. He most enjoys working with students who bring a combination of enthusiasm, dedication, and curiosity to their musical study, and has spent over a decade helping young musicians become more seasoned artists. Nathan is a crazy, goofy teacher who loves to work hard and have fun.
